N.I. POWER SUPPLY

LINKING MAIN STATIONS ARAPUNI-STRATFORD LINE. [ Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, June 14. The Public Works Department is about to undertake the work of linking Arapuni with other power stations in the North Island. A contract was let some time ago to supply the material for steel owers to carry trans.nission lines, through which, by bridging the gap between Arapuni and Stratford, the three great generating stations of the North Island will be connected in one huge system. It is hoped to have the link completed by the winter of 1934 when Mangahao and WaikarGinoana will phave reached their capacity. Thus Arapuni will then have a certain amount of store power available.
