Small Farm Scheme Good progress is being made by the small farm committees. The names of Alessrs. A. Elmslie and W. Matthews have been added to the Waver ley committee and many other farmers are giving valuable assistance. Top-Dressing. Taranaki farmers have been taking advantage of the fine weather of the past few days to push on with topdressing. A carrier who does considerable carting in the Tarata district states that there, will be as much slag sent into the district this year as usual. Returned Soldiers’ Ages. Work amounting to £S7S6 will shortly be under way at the Napier Boys’ High School, in the re-establishment of the school, two new tenders having been accepted for the reconditioning of the former brick class rooms and for the erection of the now workshops for use by those at the school taking classes of a technical and practical natufc. The successful tendered in each instance was Alessrs W. AT. Angus Ltd.. Napier, whose price for the recondition ing of the class-rooms was £3OOO and for the workshops £3493. The first mentioned work is to occupy about two months and the latter about live months. At the present time there is also in progress the building of the dormitory block at a cost of £2393.
