MAGISTRATE ’ S COURT. Mi. R. M. Watson, S.M., presided over a sitting of the Court in* Bulls on Saturday, when the following cases were heard:— Civil. Judgment by default was given for plaintiffs in the following:—Rangitikei Advocate v. P. Cosgrave, £l7 8s 9d (costs £2 16s); R. Mackay v. A. M. Thomas, £3 14s (costs £1 7s 6d); Same v. V. J. Sanson, 13s 8d (costs 12s); same v. J. H. Johnston, 15s 6d (costs 8s), same v. A. Terry, 11s (costs 12s); Levin and Co. v. T. Sanson, £5 18s 7d (costs £1 14s 6d). Judgment Summonses. J. Lammas was ordered to pay to Nicol Bros, the sum of 8s Id, in default, th days’ imprisonment; warrant suspended until May 28, 1932. J. Kennedy was ordered to pay to S. R. Hodges the sum of £2 17s, in default five days’ imprisonment; warrant to be suspended so long as defendant pays £1 per month; first payment on July 1. 1932. G. Terry was ordered to pay to Ford and Co. the sum of £8 0s 6d, with solicitor’s fee (15s 6d) in default 10 days’ imprisonment; warrant to be suspended so long as defendant pays £1 per month; first payment on July 1, 1932. B. Hobbs was ordered to pay to J. G. B. Signal the sum of £4 12s, in default five days’ ’ iprisonment; warrant to be suspended so long as defendant pays £1 per month; first payment on July 1, 1932. Unpaid Levy. On the information of Mr. J. Lowden (Department of Labour), S. J. Quarrie was proceeded against for failing to pay the levy due under the Unemployment Act. The levy having since been paid, defendant was convicted and ordered to pay costs (IOs). Fencing Dispute. Stephen J. Avery, farmer, Sanson, proceeded against Mary Pauline McKenzie, farmer, Sanson, claiming that defendant should pay her share of a new seven-wire fence between their two properties. Defendant refuted the claim that a new fence of that description was necessary. Each party was ordered to pay its own costs, and one-half eac K of the Court costs, if any. PING PONG. On Tuesday evening a match will be played in Clifton Hall between Flock House and Bulls Clubs. The Bulls team will be as follows: —Mrs. Mansell, Miss I. Walker, IXFiss M. Kearney, Miss S. Walker, Miss' E. Simpson, H. A. Signal (capt..), H. Hendry, H. Kearney, F. Howard and F. Ingram. Emergencies: K. Anderson and W Dean, Any of the above unable to play is asked to notify the secretary as soon as possible.

On Wednesday evening r match will be played for the President’s Cup. The teams, and revised handicaps, will be announced on Wednesday night. BULLS DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB. Shooting on the Bulls rang- on Saturday afternoon was marred by dull weather, but several good scores were registered, L. Huddleston and C. M. Broughton again showing fine form. Scores were:—

RANGITIKEI GOLF CLUB. A very interesting and enjoyable four-ball match, ladies v. men, was played on the local links on Saturday, the men winning 8 games to the ladies ’ 5. Details are as follows: Tricker and Hendry (scr.) lost to Miss McKenzie and Miss Tricker (6) 2 and 1. Carter and Mansell (scr.) won from Mi . McDonnell and Mrs. Hendry (5) 3 and 2. Prichard and G. Drew (scr.) lost to Miss N. Wilson and Mrs. Mackay (6) 3 and 2. A. K. Drew and N. Amon (scr.) won from Airs. Ralfe and Aliss Walker (5) 3 and 2. A. W. Amon and Scott (scr.) won from Airs. Drew and Airs. McKenzie (7) 1 up. Homes and Grut (scr.) lost to Airs. .j Burgh and Aliss Bailey (4) 2 and 1. Croucher and (Dalrymple (scr.) won from Airs. Trick r and Miss D. Perrett (5) 4 and 3. Willis and Ingram (scr.) lost to Airs. Carter and Airs. Dean (5) 6 and 5. Gould and Rich (scr.) won from Aliss Levett and Miss Petrie (7) 1 up, Mitchell and Tricker (scr.) won from Aliss Brookie and Airs. Scott (9) 4 and Smart and Petrie (2) lost to Mrs. Last Harris and Airs. Prichard (scr.) 1 down. Flower and Young (9) won from Mrs. Alarumaru and Miss Price (scr.) '2 and 1. Ransom and Ingram (scr.) won from I Airs. H, Pearce and Aliss p almer (6) I 2 and 1. FOOTBALL. The game here on Saturday between Bulls and Hunterville thirds was a poor one, though forwards of each side worked hard. In the first spell Bartlett, registered a penalty gon’ for Hunterville and in the second half Teko kicked a penalty goal, and Langdon scored a try, Bulls winning by 6 points to 3. Mr. J. B. Signal held the whist 11 .
