GOLFERS’ HAZARDS
INTERRUPTED GAME. DELAYED BY TORTOISE. Crows which every summer wait for unwary golfers and carry off now balls have become familiar on the Canberra golf course. Two golfers making a round recently, however, found a new form of live hazard. One of them marked the resting place of his ball by what appeared to be a large, bn .n stoj : and when he reached it was startled to find that the supposed stone wa; a brown tortoise res'ing in the middle of tho fairway and effectually preventing him from playing his ball. He had to wait until the tortoise continued its laborious progress toward an adjacent river.
