NEW FILM PLANNED. BOLE OF A KING. Gene Gerrard, the 8.1. P. principal, has, since his outstanding success in “Let’s Love and Laugh,” “My Wife’s Family” and “Out of the
Blue,” been voted the most popular British screen comedian the world over. Letters from abroad and every part of England have declared him to be the greatest ambassador the British
film industry has ever known, and now his admirers will be glad to know that he is starting immediately on another laugh-raising film entitled, tentatively, “Lucky Girl.” In this film Geno will play the part of a young man who suddenly succeeds to tho throne of a small and impoverished kingdom, and his subsequent adventures occur when he endeavours to “raise the wind” on the Crown jewels. Gene Gerrard will be director as well as star of the picture, with Frank Miller, who was responsible for “The Verdict of tho Sea,” as technical supervisor. Another 8.1. P. favourite will play opposite to him in “Lucky Girl,” for Nfolly Lamont, who also featured with Gene in “Brother Alfred.” is to play the leading feminine role. As daughter of a duke, Molly will have an opportunity to wear the lovely gowns she graces so well, and for the first time her singing voice will be hOhrd in a lilting duet with Gerrard.
