Buttered Apples, Those are more nourishing than tho usual way of cook'ng baked apples. Peel and core two apples and put them in a small casserole; fill the centre of the apple with butter, a little sugar, and a squeeze of lemon juice; put two ■ tablesponsful of water, one tcaspoonful 1 of sugar in the dish, and let them cook slowly until quite soft.
