SUCCESSFUL CLEARING SALE. The ’ Co-op. Distributing Co. Ltd. report having hold a most successful clearing sale on account of Messrs J. McDonnell and Son Dn the Halcombe-Feilding Road on Wednesday. There was an exceptionally large attendance, buyers being present from Taranaki, Wanganui, Taihapc, Hunterville, Pahiatua, Manawatu and all surrounding districts, and from the outset the sale went with a swing, prices realised being well in excess of vendors* expectations. The demand for horses, implements and sheep was very strong while cattle made full market value. The following is a range of prices realised:— Sheep.—3ls 4-th. ewes S.D.R. 14s lOd; 97 2-th. owes S.D.R. 13s 7d; 245 6-th. ewes, S.D.R., 13s 7d; 586 4 and 5-yr. ewes, S.D.R., 7s 10d to 8s 3d. s Fat ewes Gs 10; empty ewes, 3s 6d; cull ewes Is to Is 7d; fat lambs, 10s to Ils Gd; S.D. ewe lambs, 14s Id; S.D. ewes, 15s to 17s 6d; S.D. ram lambs, 9s; S.D. ram 14 gns. Cattle.—2i-year P. A. steers, £2 10s; dairy cows, late calvers, £2 to £6 ss; Jersey bulls, 15s; 18-inonths heifers, empty, £2 2s 6d; wenners, 255. Horses.—4-yenr mare. £3O; 9-yr. mares. £34 to £3B 10s; 7-yr. gelding, £35 10s; 7-yr. hack. £7; 2-yr. colt, passed at 30 gns.
