LEAGUE TO TAKE ACTION GENEVA, May 18. Tho killing and burning alive of men, women, children and the firing of 44 villages were among the charges against tho Liberian authorities admitted by the Liberian delegation, which asserted that the measures were necessary to maintain order. Eightyone men, 49 women, and 29 children are known to have been massacred. Many are believed to have been burned. The committee dealing with Liberian affairs resolved to urgently recommend the Council to send a ’•'"'rosentative to the Kru Coast to assist in the pacifica tion of the country, and encourage the tribes to return to their villages under conditions of security.
