SCHOOL TEACHING STAFFS

WANGANUI EDUCATION DISTRICT RESIGNATIONS AND APPOINTMENTS The following report with reference to the personnel of teaching staffs was made to the Wanganui Education Board yesterday by the acting-chair-man, Mr E. F. Hemingway:— Relieving Teachers: In addition to 39 teachers who are temporarily filling probationary assistants’ positions, the following arc at present on the relieving staff:— Acting Head Teachers: Mr C. Nolan, Ohakea; Mr E. A. Brown, Alton; Mr D. A. Blue, Greatford. Acting Solo Teachers: Mr V. F. Moore, Porewa; Miss G. Heinold, Orangimea. Acting Assistants: Mr D. P. McMurray, Foxton; Miss M. E. Harrison, Ohakune; Mr R. L. Tasker, Waverley; Mr E. F. C. Hextail, Hunterville; Miss M. J. Adams, Lytton Street; Miss V. E. Sadd, Russell Street; Miss I. M. Pearse, Kakahi; Miss M. Sloggett, Taikorea; Miss H. Redpath, Kiwitea; Miss 0. Wellard, Kimbolton; Miss E. A. Harman, Gonville; Miss M. Calver, Parewanui; Miss M. A. Arlidge, Hokowhitu. Unemployed Teachers: At last mect-

ing of the board, the number of teachers without pormament appointments was reported as 116. Several additions, to and deletions from the lists have taken place, and the number now stands at 111. Of these, 57 have temporary employment. Resignations: The following teachers have resigned since last meeting: Miss A. Horneman, assistant, Mangaweka; Miss J. I. Wright, assistant, Mangawea; Miss G. S. Hewitt, assistant, Ohakune; Miss E. M. Burgess, assistant, Kaitoke; Miss R. Elsmore, sole teacher, Omatane; Miss E. M. Purnell, relieving; Mr J. Galland, head teacher, Newbury; Mr A. Stewart, head teacher, Raurimu. Appointments: Ohakea, I. N. Leel, bead teacher; Manchester Street, M, Armour, assistant; West End, T. E. Douds, assistant; Pokako, L B. Ford, assistant; Foxton D. H. S., D. Pillar, secondary assistant; Ohakune D.H.S., M. I. Power, assistant; Russell Street, E. M. Tankersley, assistant.
