DEALING WITH THE OPPOSITION WARSAW, Jan. 13. ■ Heavy sentences have been passed on leaders of the Opposition, arrested during the general election in 1930, for plotting against the Pilsudski regime. Vincent Witos, Populist leader, thrice Premier of Poland, was sen tenced to 18.months’ imprisonment and Hermann Libermann, Socialist leader, to two and a-half years. Five others were sentenced to from two to three years. The trial lasted two months. The roults caused consternation in polity * al circles.
