MANAWATU AND WEST COASf THE AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT The fourth annual sate was held at Feilding ou Wednesday, when the entry comprised 22 stud Southdown rams, 135 stud Romney rams and 4 stud Romney ewes, a total of 161 of which Associated Live Stock Auctioneers, Ltd. offered 145 head. There was a largo attendance of the public and buyers were present from many parts of both islands, though only., a single sheep was purchased for the south. Southdowns' came at the commencement of the catalogue and all the rams of quality met with spirited bidding and prices realised were in all cases satisfactory to vendors. In the Romney section there were many outstanding sheep, but at the same time quite a number were not up to the required standard and throughout these were neglected and many failed to head the minimum bid, while quite useful sheep sold at figures which must be considered in buyers’ favour. The top price of the day was 100 guineas, this being paid for Romney ram, Leedstown No. 463, sold on account Mr. Arthur Wheeler and purchased by Mr. F. Eng laud of Hunterville.
