GENERAL NEWS Air. J. Linklater, M.P., official Coalition candidate for tho Manawatu electorate, speaks at Bulls this (Wednesday) evening. Fcilding Bowling Club is sending four rinks to Bulls to play a friendly inter-club match this afternoon. Given fine weather, an enjoyable afternoon should be spent. The results of the competitions at the Flower Show on Alonday were as follows:—Cake, Aliss Flo. Howard; cake number 2, Aliss Cornfoot; elephant, Aliss Kidd; ham and turkey, Airs. ANNUAL FLOWER SHOW FINE DISPLAY OF BLOOAIS The annual Rose, Sweet Pea and Vegetable Show, under the auspices of St. Andrew’s Church, Bulls, and St. Martin’s Church, Greatford, was held in Bulls Town Hall on Alonday, and in spite of tho rough weather there were good attendances of the public in the afternoon and evening. Considering the unfavourable spring weather, the display of blooms was really magnificent, and good entries were also received in the other c'asses. Credit is due to the good work done by the lion, secretary (Rev. B. R. White), and to the ladies and men responsible for the arrangements.

Mr. J. Linklater, ALP., opened the show, and complimented the promoter# and exhibitors, wishing them a successful financial return for their labours. He paid a tribute to the ladies respon . ible for the cookery exhibits, and passed humorous remarks on the types of cooking which he had had the misfortune to sample on other occasions.
