CRICKET Owing to rain the proposed friendly match with Bulls did not eventuate on Saturday. A school match between Silverhope and Hunterville resulted in a win for Silverhope by 66 runs to 61. GENERAL NEWS The rain on Saturday was welcomed by dairy farmers and gardeners and it has done a wonderful amount of good. It stopped shearing for a day or so, but sheepowners have had a splendid shearing season to date. A local resident was fined £3 and costs IDs last week for being drunk in charge of a horse and cart. Alessrs. E. L. Ironmonger and R. Dukeson, J’s.P., were on the bench.
