AGED SHIP-BUILDER’S RESOLVE Sir Alfred Yarrow, the famous shipbuilder, at 90, has resolved never to cross the English Channel by boat again if ho can go by air. He told a , Daily Mail reporter recently that a lot of risks had to bo taken in the sea crossing. “A person,’’ Sir Alfred said, “can catch cold getting out of the warm railway carriage or the deck of a crowded steamer. 1 have crossed hundreds of times and caught a great many coM.s in doing it. “There there is the likelihood of sea-sickness. I knew a man who died after violent seasickness. And there is all the fatigue of the long journey. ‘‘.Provided there are three or four propellers, a good pilot, and a well-de-signed machine. I would always back the new style and fly in comfort, free from chill and excitement.”
