WEATHER FORECAST

General Situation. —Saturday’s disturbance passed rapidly eastwards during the night and improved conditions have been in evidence everywhere, yesterday an anti-cyclone having advanced on to the Dominion. Another rather intense depression is, however, moving over the Tasman Forecast. —Winds: Northerly, freshening and reaching gale force at • places. Seas (N.Z. waters): Becoming rough south of Capo Egmont and Castlepoint, elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong northeast to north winds to gales, later rapidly unsettled in western districts from Taranaki southward and in tho far north and south, with rain setting in. Fine and mild at rst in eastern provinces, but an unfavourable change may be expected generally during to-day, with fairly widespread rain.
