TEACHERS’ APPOINTMENTS. WANGANUI EDUCATION DISTRICT. At yesterday’s meeting of the Wanganui Education Board the chairman made the following reports relative to the appointments and reorganisation of teachers:— Appointments. The following appointments have been confirmed:— Greatford, Miss K. Graham, assistant; Otamakapua, Mr J. H. Blackman, sole teacher; Parewanui, Mr G. C. Abraham, sole teacher; Ngaturi, Miss W. Swan, solo teacher; Kimbolton, Mr 0. L. Matthews, sole teacher; Colyton. Miss G. E. Ranson, assistant; Coal Creek, Mr D. L. Jackson, sole teacher: Stanway, Mrs M. Turner, sole teacher;' Taihapc, Mr A. 11. Dennc, head teacher; Westmere, Mr R. D. Mcßae, head teacher; Tokorangi, Mr D. G. Warner, head teacher. Resignations. Middle Road, Mr A. D. McPherson, head teacher. Relieving Teachers. The following are at present on the relieving staff.— Acting Head Teachers: Mr D. P. McMurray, Tokorangi; Mr D. A. Blue, Okoia. Acting Sole Teachers: Mr R. L. Tasker, Otamakapua; Mr J. Dwyer, Pokako; Mr C. Nolan, Mount View; Mr E. Naumann, Parewanui; Mr D. R. Salter. Kimbolton; Mr E. F. Hextali, Coal Creek. Acting Assistants: Mr E. Brown,! Westmere; Miss O. Wellard, Wanganui Central Infants; Mr N. Amadio, Lytton Street; Mr W. J. Dive, Taihape; Miss M. Sloggett, Queen’s Park; Miss M. E. Harrison, Wanganui East. Unemployed Teachers. There is little alteration in the position regarding unemployed teachers, but! authority has just been received from! the Department to employ registered i unemployed male teachers as parttime additional assistants in school, by arrangement with the Unemployment Board, at the rates and under the conditions provided by Scheme 5. There are only four male teachers unemployed at present. An endeavour is being made to place them in part-time employment from the beginning of next week. It is probable that several of the male teachers at present on the relieving staff will be without employment after the term holidays, but it will be possible to employ them part-time under Scheme No. There are only two male teachers who have not had some relieving work this year, but there are fourteen females in this unfortunate position. School Commissioners. The following school commissioners have been appointed:—Omahina: Messrs R. Symes and F. Gilligan. Ngawaka: Mr J. Stodart.
