FIRST PACIFIC CONVENTION SYDNEY GATHERING OPENS Received Aug. 19, 9.20 p.m. SYDNEY, Aug. 19. The first Pacific International Christian Endeavour Convention opened to-day in Sydney, when upwards of 2000 delegates from all parts of Australia and New Zea»md were present. The Rev. Lion Fleteher (New Zealand) president of the movement, will represent the world president, Dr. Daniel Folding, of the United States. The Rev. Fletcher conducted the inaugural proceedings in the Sydney Town Hall, ami he will play a prominent part in all the subsequent sessions until the closing day next Tuesday. Mrs Fletcher officially opens the junior exhibition to-night, and a huge welcome rally occurs in this connection in the city Town Hall.
