ADDINGTON FIXTURE 1 METROPOLITAN MEETING HAROLD THORPE’S VICTORY i Per Presa Association. J CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 14. The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club August meeting was concluded to-day. The weather was fine and the course in great order. The attendance was good. The totalisator investments w'ere £31,049, compared with. £40,599 last year. The total for the meeting was £76,916, as against £.101,178 10s last year Results were as follows: Midwinter Handicap.—6 Gemlight (Humphreys) 1, 4 Repute (Frost) 2, 9 Merce Bingen (Berry) 3. Also: 1 Great Way and Ambition (bracketed), 2 Lady Fan, 5 Nelson Ata, 7 All Peters, 10 Nelson Boy, 3 White Satin, 8 Boueta. Repute led into the straight from Ambition, Gemlight and Merce Bingen but Gemlight finished well and won by two lengths from Repute. Merce Bingen was three lengths away, and Ambition, fourth. Six- furlongs from home Dilworth had charge from Harold Thorpe, with Regal Voyage, Satin King, Kingcraft, Alountain Deii and Roi I’Or next. Regal Voyage took the lead three furlongs from home and led into the straight from Dilworth, Harold Thorpe, Roi I’Or, Kingcraft and Satin King. Harold Thorpe finished well and won by a length and a-half from Roi I’Or. Harold Logan was two lengths away and Lindbergh. three lengths back, fourth, with Regal Vovage fifth. Sir Voyage entered the run home well clear of Duke Bingen and Native Star and won by six lengths from Native Star, with Engagement a similar distance away. Quickfire was fourth.
