NEWSPAPER STAFFS STRIKE
REDUCTIONS IN WAGES Received Aug. 13, 8.45 p.m. PERTH, Aug. 13. A strike of newspaper employees today prevented the production of the city’s afternoon newspaper, the Perth LViily News. The morning newspaper. Western Australian, is unlikely to appear to-morrow. The dispute involves the proprietors of both journals and their mechanical staffs. It arises out of reductions in pay following on the heavy drop in advertising and the high cost of newsprint due to the adverse exchange.
