'Ewo Hindus and one Aloslcm were killed and sixteen injured in a grave communal riot at Dera Ismail Khan, on rhe north-west frontier. Hindus’ shops were looted and destroyed. The shopkeepers fired on the rioters in self defence. THE SITUATION SERIOUS GANDHI'S MESSAGE TO VICEROY DELHI, Aug. 12. Governor Hotson has written to Mr Gandhi denying a breach of the terms of the Delhi agreement and coercion in the collection of revenue in Gujerat. Mr Gandhi has telegraphed to the Viceroy, saying that he has found it difficult to proceed to London. The Viceroy’s reply is awaited. The situation is serious.
