DISASTER THREATENED FARM BOARD’S DRASTIC STEP APPEAL TO PLOUGH-IN [By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright] Received Aug. 13, 8.30 p.m. WASHINGTON, Aug. 12. The Farm Board has taken drastic steps to stabilise the cotton prices. It telegraphed 14 Governors of cotton-pro-ducing States urging them to lead a movement to abandon much of the cotton now growing and thus eliminate the excess which threatens to direct disaster to the cotton growing States. The Board suggested that every third row of cotton be immediately ploughed under.
