The whole of Cuva is under martial law; as reports of increased rebel activities have reached here despite the strictest censorship. Advices from Santa Clara province state that 300 rebels invaded Santa Clara, killed 30 soldiers and imprisoned 25, retiring before the arrival of army reinforcements. Several other interior towns are reported to bo under rebel control after sanguinary skirmishes.
