REPLIES BY MINISTERS [ Per Plena AaaociLtion. I WELLINGTON, Aug. 12. When the House of Representative! met at 2.c<) p.m. Mr C. Carr (Labour, Tiniaru) asked the Postmaster-General whether it was in accordance with the Government’s policy to permit party political propaganda to bo broadcast, as ho alleged it had been done, by Mr A. C. Cameron, retiring president of tho Dunedin Chan her of Commerce, frum 4 YA on Monday, and if so, whether ho would give an opportunity for a broadcast reply from the same station. The Hon. J. B. Donald replied to tho first part, of tho question in the negative and added that that being tho case there, was no need to reply to the latter part. Mi J. 8. Fletcher (Independent, Grey Lynn) asked whether instructions had been issued to tho Unemployment Board that its expenditure must be limited to £50,000 per week. The Hon. G. W. Forbes replied that no such instruction had been issued. The Board, however, was required to live within its income. Mr W. Nash (Labour, Hutt) asked whether sufficient funds would bo provided to enable the Unemployment Board to make allocations to local authorities sufficient to pay for tho usual period of work under the No. 5 Scheme. Mi Forbes said that the Board was allocating u t > to the limits of its funds. It was hoped to provide work on public works in the next few month. . The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Bill (Mr Semple) was introduced and road a first time. Tho following locals Bills wcro reported from select committee: Rotorua Borough Reclamation Empowering, Auckland and Suburban Drainage Amendment, Cameron and Soldiers* Memorial Park (Masterton), and Trustees Empowering and Wellington City Milk Supply Amendment.
