GLOUCESTER MATCH NEW ZEALAND PLEASES BOWLERS DO WELL (Special to Press Association) BRISTOL, Aug. 11. The New Zealand cricketers gamed an easy victory over Gloucestershire by an innings and 25 runs. The weather was overcast for the continuation of play. New Zealand’s innings, yielding 257 runs for nine wickets, was declared closed, and Gloucestershire had to- make 134 runs to avert defeat by an innings. The New Zealand victory immediately preceding the Test is highly gratifying. In Gloucestershire’s secund innings the New Zealand bowlers immediately gained the upper hand. Seabrook was bowled by a beautiful ball from Matheson in the first over, and Sinfield was caught in the slips off Crumb in the second over, Neale and Stephens offering stubborn resistance until Allcott bowled Stephens. When Ford was dismissed by Matheson immediately after lunch the total was 89 for six wickets. Blunt and Vivian quickly disposed of the tail, the last three wickets falling without the addition of a run.

The New Zealand bowlers held the advantage. Alatheson bowled particu larly well, swinging away late and de serving more success. Crumb also was very steady, his sixteen overs including six maidens.
