YOUNG MAN SUSPECTED ARREST ON ANOTHER CHARGE [ Per Press Association. ] MASTERTON, Aug. 12. “Accused might be connected with the hold-up at the Day’s Bay service station,” said Sergeant T. 11. Dyer when asking in the Magistrate’s Court to-day for a remand in the case, in which George Henry Ellis, 23, mechani" of Wellington, was charged with obtaining four gallons of petrol in Masterton by representing that he was employed by a Wellington service station. The Sergeant said that accused had made a statement regarding his movements in Wellington, which the police wished to verify. Ellis was arrested on the arrival of a service car at Fea therston from Wellington on Tuesday morning. He was remanded to appear at Masterton on August 19.
