EMPLOYMENT FOR BOYS
Sir,—I am again taking the liberty of soliciting your assistance in regard to the finding of employment for boys who have left school. In my last appeal, 1 pointed out tha. the farmers had responded so well, that there were not sufficient boys to fill tho positions offering. This, however, resulted in further applications from boys, with the result that the supply now exceeds tho de mand. I therefore again appeal to the farmers to endeavour to find work for these boys. The cominitteo which is arranging this matter has kept in touch with the boys who have been placed, and with the farmers who have employed them, and reports show that with one exception, the scheme has been a great success. Now that the spring is approaching, 1 have more co i. fidcnee in appealing to the farmers, and would ask that those who are able to furnish employment for lads, communicate with Air D. AfcFarlane, Ridgway street, Wanganui.—Yours* faithfully, N. G. ARMSTRONG, Alayor. The Alayor’s Office, August 11.
