WANGANUI ASSOCIATION WINTER SHIELD MATCH WANGANUI V. BUSH The challenge from Bush for the Winter Shield will be met by Wanganui on Gonvillo Park on Saturday. All senior club fixtures are postponed. A ladies 1 representative team is also coming from Bush and will be. with the men’s team, entertained by the as sociation after the match. SCHOOLGIRLS’ MATCHES SEVEN-A-SIDE TOURNAMENT GON VILLE PARK PROGRAMME Of considerable interest to hockey enthusiasts is the schoolgirls’ seven-a-side tournament which will be held at Gonville Park on Saturday, play commencing at 1 p.m. Eleven teams have entered for the tournament and they
provide some very interesting hockey. Teams have been entered as follows: Wanganui East A, B and C; Aramoho A, B and C; Gonville A, B and C; Avenue A and B. The three C teams play off first as a separate group, and the best C group will then join in the other groups to make three groups of three each, as follows: — Group .1. —Wanganui East A. I In th< event of a draw, should there have been any penalty corners, these i will count i point each, but a goal in the lead will cancel all penalty corners j (this rule to apply up to group finals), i In the finals points will be: Win, 2 I points; draw, 1 point. Only goals will count in those games. In the event of two teams being level in points they wil’ play off seven minI utes or until one scores. If no score results officials shall decide how tho winner shall be arrived at. Tho off-side rule will be altered to read: “Two of her opponents nearer the goal line than she is.” Any team not able to take the field nt the appointed time will bo disqualified.
