The Australian Jockey Club ha pruned down the prize-money at th forthcoming spring meeting by at lea--50 per eent. in the minor events. Th added money for the full programm will be £25.450. compared with £41.00 at the corresponding meeting last yeai The A.J.C. Derby, however, remains th riehpst race in Australia with £BOO added money, also £250 to the breede of the winner provided he bred th horse here or in New Zealand.

William Calnan and George Guest were before Central Summons Court on charges nnde«* the Customs Act arising ?ut of the importation of the racehorse 'Mmba. Culnjn is charged with wrongfully stating the value of the horse and having wrongly described Simba Guest is charged with having understated Simba’s value at £l5O. The case Las been adjourned for a fortnight.
