EFFECT OF THE DEPRESSION NEW YORK. Aug. 9. For every two incoming immigrants three people are leaving America’s shores permanently, either deported or induced by economic reasons to return to European or other countries. Deportations alone from New Y'-rk in the past twelve months reached 19,000. One Italian liner left New York with 1100 third-class passengers, mostly Italian familes being sent home by their bread-winners to live more cheaply in Italy.
