e ' WOMAN AND HER COSTUME. T' DI SB L IE "WITH DRESSAIAKEK. 11 A scene in a dressmakers’ shop in '' New Bond Street, London, was de- ’ scribed at the Westminster County ' Court, recently, when Aladame Hny- ' ward Ltd., sued Mrs N. Al. A. Glover ‘ for £25 for a two-piece purple-beige 1 tweed suit. -Aliss Gladys Hayward, manageress. I ' said that Airs Glover was very pleased ’ with the skirt, but did not like the r coat. She wanted a different shape. II The tailor told her that the way she 1 wanted the coat ut was contrary to 1 the grain of the cloth, whereupon Airs ( " Glover ordered him out of the room. ’ “I then called the French litter, Alademoiselle Elaine,” said Miss Hayk ward. “It is usual in our business to b I greet a customer with a smile. Elaine j came into the room smiling. “At that Mrs Glover took offence. ‘Who’s this coining into the room smilif ing at me?’ .he said, and ordered her ] out, too. Then Mrs Glover took the l’ coat and skirt off, threw them on the floor, saying that she had been insulted, and she would not accept the goods. “The tailor.’’ said Airs Glover, .. giving evidence, “never said a word: t ._ ho was absolutely morose, and I spoke , e to him in English ami French.Judge Turner: And Scotch and Irish. e too? n Airs Glover: No, but I am Irish; r Madame was civil and very nice, but the French fitter came in with a grin .. on her face.
