WANGANUI MATCHES PRIMARY SCHOOLS’ COMPETITION FIXTURES FOR THURSDAY The Wanganui Football Association junior management committee advanced rhe primary schools’ competition a furher stage last Thursday, when the matches between Wanganui East and Queen’s Park, and Wanganui East and Durie Hill were played on Cook’s Gardens, while on Victoria Park Avenue played Gonville and Marist played Tawhero. The results were as follows: A Section. Avenue 7 v. Gonville 1. Wanganui East 0 v. Queen’s Park 8. Marist 0 v. Tawhero 0, B Section. Avenue 4 v. Gonville 0. Wanganui East 0 v. Durie Hill 0. The Marist v. Aramoho game was not played but will be played to-morrow on Victoria Park. Play generally is steadily improving, although several of the boys are still inclined to get out of position. Next Thursday will see the last matches of the championship, after which the knock-out competition will be commenced. The following shows the relative positions of the teams: —
