NEW FORM OF ROBBERY
MOTORIST AND A FILM A new kind of highway robbery entirely appropriate to the twentieth century has been demonstrated at the expense of a wealthy business man in France. He was driving through the Forest of Senart when a man stepped out into the road and signalled to him to stop. He did so, and tho man explained that he represented a film company, the offices of which were m Paris.
“For 100 francs (16s Bd,” the man said, “I will make a picture of you in your car, and you can call for tho film at our offices to-morrow.” The motorist, who was justly proud of his fine car, allowed himself to be persuaded, and paid the fee. Turning tho handle of what appeared to be a first-class camera, the man took shots of him smoking a cigarette indolently beside his limousine, sitting proudly at the wheel, and driving among the trees. On the following day the business man, with an eagerness that anpone who has never been filmed will well understand, searched for the offices of the
company which was promoting this novel'idea. But hq failed to find them, Even detectives have failed also.
