Seaboy in Steeples. Until he ran third in the Dromore Steeplechase on Saturday at Ashburton, Seaboy, who has been entered for hack steeplechases at the Wellington

meeting, had not raced since ho won his second Lawford Steeplechase in succession at the Christchurch Hunt Club’s meeting in August after a remarkable contest. There were five runners in the race, but one went out early. At tho second to last fence Kulrange, Pcterette, and Wairio fell one after tho other, and then Seaboy. who was a long way in the rear, also camo to grief when his turn came. A number of spectators had run on to th< track to assist in re-capturing the horses, and Seaboy, the first caught, after negotiating the last fence in anything but certain style, came on to win before the next recaptured horse had crossed tho final obstacle. Seaboy, who is by Danilof from tho Patronus mare Sea Shore, has in recent years been troubled with leg unsoundness, and this has been the reason for his few public appearances.
