Further evidence in rebuttal of the case for the defence was given this morning, when tho Supreme Court continued the hearing of the claim for £77,850 by the Wairoa Afeat Co. against the New Zealand and Eagle and Star Insurance Companies. Continuing his evidence, Edmund Anscombo detailed tho results of hi« examination of plaintiff’s buildings stating that the damage revealed in the photographs produced by the defence was largely caused by subsequent earth quakes on tho buildings previously damaged by fire.
