Joseph Jackson did the adaptation of the Elizabeth Alexander story. Howard Brotherton directed. “Common Clay” Returning Maybe if you were young, beautiful and worth several millions, you wouldn’t want to be a film actress. But Constance Bennett did, and abandoned a distinguished social career to do it. Her latest appearance is as the leading feminine player in “Common Clay,” the poignant story of a girl of the people.
