School football and basketball teams expect to visit Tutaenui to-day to play return matches. . The New Zealand Croquet Council is making an appeal through the local secretary for funds to assist clubs m Hawke’s Bay to reinstate their courts. RUGBY FOOTBALL. The matches were postponed on Wed nesday owing to the wet ground at Marton. The local club was not informed of the postponement until about one p.m., and by that time some of the players were on their way into Hunteiville. The Rugby Union seem to make a general muddle of allairs this ycai and it seems only reasonable that clubs should be informed in time to get in touch with club members. It means loss of time and out-of-packet expenses for players, and generally is not a fair deal. In any case there are too many postponements. Rugby js a winter game and a little water should not mean the general upsetting of fixtures.
