French “Plunder”
ATTACK BY MR. HEARST A SENSATIONAL ARTICLE [By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright] Received Juno 21, 9.10 p.m. LONDON, June 25. The American newspaper owner, Air W. R. Hearst, who is at present in London, makes a remarkable attack on France on the front page of the Daily Express. Ho prefaces his article by denouncing Air Hcovcr’s proposal and pledging his newspapers to unending opposition to “This plan to plunder the American people. ” He says that France is piling up gold until she has more per capita than any nation in the world. France docs not cancel her debts nor pay any, using the money thus misappropriated for building up i gigantic war machine. “There will be no peace in Europe until Franco is compelled to cease creating wars,” he says. “Franco should be hailed before the high court of the world, bound over to keep the peace, or suffer the violent consequences of those who live by the sword.”
