MAIL BAG ROBBERY
THREE MEN CHARGED. BIG SUAIS INVOLVED. SYDNEY, June 23. Tho police have arrested two men in connection with the Mudgee mail rob bery. One man is already on trial for the Canberra £lO,OOO mail robbery. The arrested men arc being charged with robbery under arms. The Aludgee train was held up by bandits at midnight on April 9, 1930. and tho robbers escaped with over £4OOO in notes and silver contained in a mail bag, representing a portion of the railwaymen’s pay. The stolen bag contained cash to the value of about £lB,OOO, £12,000 of which was in cheques, which were subsequently cancelled.
