WAITOTARA COUNTY COUNCIL. 1 BY-LAWS. 3 JpUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Part IV of The Counties Act 1920, The Health Act 1920, ’ The Cemeteries Act 1908, The Public Works Act 1928, The Public Reserves, Domains and National Parks Act 1928, ’ and of all other powers it thereunto ’ enabling the Waitotara County Council ’ proposes making By-laws for the good ’ order and government of the County and that at a special meeting of the Council held on Wednesday the 27th ’ day of May 1931 a resolution was passed that By-laws the objects and purport of which are set out below ’ should be made by special order. ’ The objects and purport of the proposed By-laws are as follows: Part 1. Introduction and Penalties. > Part IT. Hawkers and Pedlars. Part 111. Trespass by cattle. Part IV. Restricting loads on bridges. ! Part V. Damage to Roads and Bridges. Part VT. Use of bullock teams on roads. Part VII. Use of Traction Engines and Tractors on roads. Part VIII. Regulating width of tyres on vehicles drawn by animals. Part IX. Relating to Heavy Traffic. Part X. Public Billiard Rooms. Part XI. Provisions for good rule and government of the County being: (a) offences on roads and public places. (b) erection of verandahs and scaffolding, etc. (c) signboards. (d) lighting of obstructions. (e) disposal of surface and storm water. (f) trees overhanging streets. (g) regulating use of bicycles. (h) driving regulations. (i) use of roads. Part XII. Regulating traffic generally. Part XIII. Health By-laws. Interpretation and General. Part XIV. Buildings. Part XV. Condemned buildings. Part XVI. Construction and cleansing of Privies. Part XVII. Public Parks and Reserves. i AND PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby further given that a copy of. the proposed By-laws is deposited at the office’ of the Council in Ridgway Street, Wanganui, where it is open to the inspection of the public during office hours until the 18th day of July 1931. AND FURTHER that a special meeting of tho Council will be held at the offices of the Council aforesaid on Monday tho 20th day of July 1931 at 10.30 a.m. to confirm the resolution making such By-laws.
