CHORAL SOCIETY

CONCERT THIS EVENING. The Society, at their concert this evening, will once again undertake the presentation of a cantata entitled ‘ ‘ A Tale of Old Japan,” the composer is S. Coleridge Taylor, the author of this truly Oriental poem being Alfred Noyes. The choicely blended choruses under the able baton of Mr F. Wentworth Slater A.R.C.0., will give full play to the combination of male and female voices and the solo work being in the hands ot such singers of repute as Mesdames Wilfred Andrews (Wellington), Olive Tarrant, Messrs Denis Sheard (Wellington) and Charles Haar, will ensure adequate interpretation uf this portion of the charming work, while the choir will be heard to the greatest, advantage by the sympathetic pianoforte accompaniment of Mr Horatio Nelson L.A.B. A Steinmeyer piano has been kindly lent by Mrs Doran for the Choral Society’s concert to-night.
