For several years past the game has had a wide, appeal on the upper ireaches oi the river. Dr. G. J. Adams (president), J. B. Rowe (treasurer), C. T. Young (secretary) ami J. D. Crowley (selector) were impressed with the enthusiasm displayed and have come back determined that some effort should be made to send a Metropolitan team up-river to Ranana this season. 'The scheme mooted is one which could well be carried out when Wanganui travels to Palmerston North in August. A Metropolitan team, it is suggested, could travel up river. In ;ul dition, it has been suggcsteil that a third Metropolitan side could play Wai roa at Wanganui. This would have the effect of interesting the outside unions and, at. tho same time, keeping city plavcrs ori the field for the day.
