WHIRLWIND IN GERMANY
THREE PEOPLE KILLED. TERRIFIC THUNDER. LONDON, June 19. The Tinies’ Berlin correspondent says that three people were killed and 80 injured, and .130 houses wrecked in a whirlwind which swept the Elbe Valley in Westphalia. It uprooted beams, scaffolding, roofs, and fencing, which wore blown into the air. Sturdy trees were uprooted. , Tiles hulling in the air caused most of the casualties. It was followed by terrific, thunder storms. Lightning struck a big farm in Meeklobourg and set fire to a sheep shed, burning 400 sheep. STORM IN POLAND. SEVERAL LIVES LOST. WARSAW, June 19. A barn in the village of Sicrpce, in which 24 soldiers were sheltering from , the storm, was struck by lightning. The ammunition exploded, killing six and wounding IS. Three children playing in a street were killed by the same stroke. Four people were killed in a terrific storm in the Lodz district, where crops were ruined and livestock killed.
