WEATHER FORECAST
General situation. —The cyclonic depression ret erred to previously moved rapidly eastward, its centre being west ot Auckland yesterday afternoon. Barometers tire high over eastern Australia. Forecast.—Winds: Northerly at, first, and strong in parts of the North Island,, southerlies setting in shortly in the south, and becoming general withi n the next 24 hours, and increasing gradually in force. Seas (N.Z. waters): Moderate at first, but, rising generally. Eastern Tasman Bea: Strong southerly winds and rough seas. Weather: Dull, and in places misty or foggy. Fairly general rain probable, with some heavy falls from Nelson and Marlborough northwards, but lighter thence southward. Temperatures cold, with snow on the high levels.
