GOLF CLUB BALL

HAPPY TIME AT BELMONT SUCCESSFUL SOCIAL FUNCTION Successful in every way, was the dance held by tho Belmont Golf Club at tho vlub house on the links last night. With shaded lights and decorations of hydrangeas and bamboo arranged in tho new dining room 'and verandah, a splendid setting was provided for some two hundred and fifty dancers. Stoddart’s orchestra lived up to its reputation and provided all tho very latest music. A delicious supper was sot in a large marquee arranged at the side of tho wide verandah and two long tables were beautifully arranged with Iceland poppies and autumn leaves in tall silver vases and low bowls of marigolds with golden candles in black candlesticks. Much regret was expressed when it was understood that Airs J. Harold, one of the hostesses, was unable to be present owing to illness. Bridge was played at twelve tables set apart in another room for that purpose, so that when the dancers had enjoyed themselves on tho floor they were able to play a rubber or two. Everybody enjoyed themselves and the hours slipped by all too quickly. Tho committee consisted of Afesdames Russell Grave, and Silk, Afiss H. Franklin, Air B. Silk, Dr. Hutchinson and Air F. Hill.
