WHEAT DUTIES
SUPPORT FROM LABOUR A MEETING AT TIMAEU I Per Press Association.) TIMARU, June 19. A meeting convened to-day by the Labour Party to discuss the question of the sliding scale ot wheat duties, was largely attended by farmers and others interested in the question of wheat production. Addresses were delivered by Messrs McCombs, M.P., C. Carr M.P., and T. D. Burnett, M.P. Labour members emphatically favour a retention of the present duties and for the price of wheat to the farmers to be fixed at 4s 9d.
