AN OUTCRY IN SYDNEY Received June 18, 10.20 p.m. SYDNEY, June 18. A storm of protest has arisen in regard to the arrival of the huge shipment of timber from a Russian port, the Sydney portion of which was sold before arrival. The Timber Merchants’ Association have appealed to the Government to ‘‘arrest the dumping of Soviet slaveproduced timber” on the ground that locally-milled timber is unable to compete therewith. The Federal authorities are now making inquiries.
