TWO-DAY STOPPAGE
THE GLEN AFTON MINE REPRIMANDING OF TWO BOYS (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, June 18. Work at the Glen Afton mine, near Huntly, was stopped to-day and between 600 and 700 men have been deprived of work for two days through tho miners taking exception to two boys being ordered to report to the manager for failing Io work full time. Tho men stated that tho two boys were working on the surface and became wet through on Wednesday when attending to the screens, and wont homo before their allotted Hme. On returning to work they were told to report to the manager. The men objected to the boys being riprimnnded and decided not t > work that, day ns a protest. Tho management thereupon declared tho mine closed until Monday.
