They are named Thomas Vance and William North. They went to Los Angeles and saw tho Swedish motorship BuHarin which they were informed was going to San Francisco, 20 hours away. They stowed away in the engine-room and were discovered eight hours later. They then found that the ship was bound for Auckland. They say that, fortunately the captain and the whole crow saw the humour of the situation. They will be sent back by another vessel.
