FARMER’S DEATH
VERDICT OF SUICIDE (Per Press Association.) LX VERCARGILL, June 18. A well-known resident of Groxo Bush, William Burke, a farmer, aged 57, was found dead on Wednesday morning on his property with a wound in his throat. An inquest was held this morning ami after hearing the evidence, th® coroner returned a verdict of suicide. MINER’S SUICIDE I Per Press Association. 1 CHRIST BURCH, June 18. A verdict of suicide by gas poisoning was brought in by the Coroner, Air E. I). Mosley, at an inquest this evening into the death of Andrew Jock, a \\ <‘st, Coast miner, found dead in a shed at the rear of the house where he boarded in Christchurch. Jock had been out of work and was short of money. lie was in arrears with his board and his landlady had told him he must pay at least part of the money due or leave this morning. He was found in a shed with a sack over his heat! and an open gas jet. inside the sack. He had been dead for somo hours.
