ANNUAL MEETINGS HELD. I Per Press Association. | PALMERSTON N., June 18. At tho annual meeting of the Hereford Breeders’ Association the following officers were elected: President, Air E. Al. Cranstone ,of Fordell; vice-presi-dents, Alessrs H. B. Stuckey aud A. S. Holmes; treasurer, Mr E. Short; council: Alessrs D. P. Buchanan, J. Al. James, J. McKenzie, C. A. J. Levett, W. K. Alorton, G. AlcGregor, A. Swift, W. B. White, E. Jefferson. The Ayrshire cattle breeders, at their annual meeting elected the following officers: Patron, tho Governor-General; president, Air A. AL Weir (Southland); vice-presidents, Alessrs W. Hall, W. C. Wallace, and R. S. Weir; treasurer, Air F. Alills; council: Messrs R. M. Marshall, T. D. Bissett, J. AfcLinden, J. Donald, C. AL Williams and W. H. Worster; secretary, Air R. McCay (Hawera). Speaking at the annual meeting of the Ayrshire Breeders’ Association, Air J. AfcLinden (veterinary surgeon at Massey College) characterised as humbug and nonsense the opposition to the proposal to lift the embargo on tho importation of live stock from Great Britain to New Zealand. Air AfcLinden received almost unanimous support, and a motion was passed supporting the raising of the embargo.
